Our Story
Balanz is a new-generation energy trading company, founded in 2025, built to redefine how renewable energy interacts with European power markets.
Our mission is to give wind, solar, and storage asset owners direct access to energy markets through smart technology and data-driven control. Balanz will operate as a licensed Balance Responsible Party (BRP) and later expand into Balancing and Congestion Service Provider (BSP/CSP) roles, ensuring full participation across all relevant electricity markets.
The company will first launch in the Netherlands in 2026, enabling producers to optimize trading and minimize imbalance costs. From there, Balanz will expand across Europe — scaling its platform to connect thousands of renewable assets and energy suppliers.

CEO
Erik brings over 15 years of experience in energy and flexibility markets. He combines a deep understanding of market design with hands-on experience in building energy tech companies and has a strong vision for how to grow Balanz into a European powerhouse. Erik believes a new type of energy company — built on low variable costs and smart, data-driven strategies — can operate up to four times more efficiently than traditional BRPs.

With 15 years in energy trading, Tevfik has founded and led operations serving major suppliers like Budget Energy. He combines deep market insight with operational excellence and knows how to turn market volatility into value, driving the company to maximize asset performance across energy markets.
Richard Willems
CTO
With 30 years in software development, Richard has built and led numerous data-driven platforms and development teams. Over the past two years, he has successfully integrated AI into software delivery, achieving up to a fivefold productivity boost. Richard applies this expertise to build scalable, intelligent systems that power our data-driven optimalisations.
